INFANT BAPTISM
Note: Infant Baptism is for children from 0-7 years. Any child 8 years and older must enroll in a Baptism class to be baptized.
The requirements for Infant Baptism include the following:
- REGISTRATION
- Parents preparing for Infant Baptism for their child/children must first register at the parish office.
- The birth certificate and other necessary documents must be submitted at the time of registration before the date of Baptism. (Only birth certificates will be accepted. No birth cards).
- Be sure that all parents and godparents are present at the time of the registration within working hours of the week.
- The parents' names must be on the birth certificate to be on the Baptismal record.
- No last-minute changes to names and information on documents will be allowed.
- All parents and Godparents must sign an undertaking to be cooperative and be of good behavior during pre-baptism and class and at the celebration of the Sacrament and participate actively.
- Parents and Godparents who attend pre-baptism classes in other parishes must produce paper evidence signed by the Pastor or his designee from the parish/institution at least 2 weeks before Baptism.
- Only 2 Godparents are allowed (a man and a woman). At least one of the Godparents must be a baptized Catholic (Adult) and do not have to be related to the one to be baptized.
- No use of cell phones in the class or the Church at the Mass.
- BAPTISM
- Proper dressing is part of our Church celebration. So, all parents and Godparents must dress appropriately for their children's pre-baptism class and baptism celebration. (NO REVEALING DRESSES, SHORT DRESSES, SLEEVELESS DRESSES, AND SKIRTS MUST BE UP TO THE KNEES)
- All parents and children to be baptized and their Godparents must come early, at least 15 minutes before Mass on the Baptism date.
- Parents are expected to pick up their child/children’s baptism certificates at the Church the Sunday following the baptism date.
